You never know what you’ll come across while surfing the internet. I don’t recall how I got there, but I did a double- or triple-take when I landed on this item at Saks Fifth Avenue. Truly bizarre, IMHO. The color is lovely but … seriously? And that was before I noticed the price of these lovelies!
Curiosity prompted me to click on one of the shoes at the bottom of the page:
Well, at least these are cheaper … er, less expensive. And there’s even a payment plan available for these (but not for the more expensive model above?).
For more formal occasions, they’re even available in black. How very thoughtful.
There are some less precious sneakers available on the site. But honey, if you’re wanting more bang for your (many) bucks, why would you settle for less?
It does occur to me that such expenditures might cover several months’ worth of groceries for a lot of people, or possibly even a month’s rent in some locales. But let’s not worry ourselves about the peons, shall we?

Clearly, some people have waaay too much money. Plus, these look downright dangerous. It’s like the designer strove for maximum instability. And, poor foot health.
Of course we don’t know if anyone actually bought these. But clearly someone thought they could make some money with these … or maybe just attract some attention like I’ve just given them. Certainly the two Reviews don’t seem to have come from actual purchasers.
Okay, now I’m chuckling. I was about to observe that many women wear spike heels all the time and get along just fine. Clearly not dangerous. Then I looked at those shoes again and damned if those heels don’t indeed look like actual spikes! Coincidence? Or a sense of humor from the designer?

I’m sure some Balenciaga products are already in their closets. But these shoes? I dunno. Admittedly I’d like to see them — or anyone — wearing these things.
The nearest to a classy brand of shoes for me was a pair of Hush Puppies as a teenager. Cannot fathom these! ( Okay, i did have a pair of Crocs, but from an outlet store!)
My current wardrobe consists of one pair of Keen sandals and one of Hoka sneakers. Nothing appropriate for niece’s wedding in a couple of weeks.
But wait– you may be ok as is. Brides are now wearing sneakers under their gowns, so why can’t an esteemed Aunt follow the trend in the name of comfort? Will lend you my cowboy boots if that might help! (Long skirt or long slacks make footwear fade away, too)
I bought some flowy pants, so footwear won’t be a huge issue. And found some flats on deep discount last night and ordered them. Just hope they fit well enough. I’m running out of time. But thanks for the offer of the boots!
