My favorite month of the year. Gone already. It doesn’t seem possible. There are still a lot of leaves on the trees, still a lot of raking and fall clean-up ahead. And yet, locals are already skiing, Election Day is just a week away, we’ll set our clocks back Saturday night, and Christmas ads started a month ago. We’ve already had our first freeze and our first barely detectable snow, but the temperatures the last few days have been in the 60s, with 71 and more sunshine predicted for today.
How did I miss October?
The older I get, the faster the days pass — just when I’d really like time to slow down a bit. There’s an explanation for that, something about each day being a smaller and smaller percentage of your life as you age. Whatever. The fact remains that I’m enjoying the ride and am in no hurry to see it end.
Each day is a gift;
don’t send it back unopened

I blinked and missed October. I have a feeling this is going to be a long, cold winter, too.
Sorry for the posting delay. Just figured out this was you.
Look at it this way: If you blinked and missed October, blink three or four more times and skip winter.
I love October, too, and not just because it’s my birthday month. It’s a beautiful month here (and everywhere), but when it ends it means that winter is coming—my least favorite time of the year
My sister had an October wedding. Gorgeous Tropicana roses (the coral-colored ones) everywhere. I was insanely jealous. Now I’m jealous of you for having an October birthday (mine’s in April. Not bad, but not October.)
I don’t mind winter; snow melts so fast here. It’s the heat of summer that does me in.
You changed your theme again. Since I haven’t had time to see your posts when you post them, I occasionally catch up in one sitting. I’ll start with your most recent post, then go to the previous post, read it, comment, then the next previous post, and so on, until I’ve caught up. Cannot do that now with this theme. And when I go to your Home page, it only shows your most recent 9 posts. I can’t get to the ones before that. Just sayin’………..
Pick any post. When you scroll to the very bottom of the page, you’ll see the previous and next posts in green rectangles in the lowest corners. I hope you see this note.
As for the theme, when it looks good, I love it. But so much is broken! Pages out of whack, images gone and can’t be found anywhere, videos no longer loading. Drives me crazy when I start trying to fix.
I’d not noticed this shortcoming when I changed the home page. And I don’t see a way to fix it. So thanks to your comment, I’m going to revert to the theme’s regular home page. Thank you for mentioning this! 🙂
And I, born only 3 months after you were, entirely agree !! Life is wonderful.
It was a great year, wasn’t it? And may we both see many more!
I’m still trying to figure out where July went to …
LOL. Well, you’ve been kinda busy.
I agree completely! I’m in no hurry but everything seems speeded up.
In the course of one day, I’d say everything seems normal. But overnight it somehow becomes next week and I’m left scratching my head. How does that happen? Now a lot of us seem to have lost a whole month!
