2024 – it’s on

  1. I’m truly sorry for you all, Susan. By the time voting day arrives sane Americans will be
pissed off beyond description by it all; and frankly, if Joe stands again you’ll be in the same position we are, most of the time – WTF shall we do ?!

    1. I’ve been pissed off and depressed since 2016. Admittedly there wasn’t much of a choice, but still, seeing a temperamentally unfit man, a man with obvious narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) elected to the White House when his modus operandi had been clear for years … And he’s still around! It’s like having the same nightmare over and over. Somebody please wake me up!

      1. My sympathies. But I fear politics all over the western world (being the only area I read about) are in the same shitty place: unspeakably unsuitable people vying to run each country ..

        1. Eww, that’s a hard truth. But yes, how do all those unspeakably unsuitable people manage to keep rising to the top? Depressing as hell. I keep voting against them but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. Talk about feeling irrelevant …

        2. Your own David Foster Wallace made a wonderful statement about voting – which encourages you to go on as you’re going, m’dear:
“If you are bored and disgusted by politics and don’t bother to vote, you are in effect voting for the entrenched Establishments of the two major parties, who please rest assured are not dumb, and who are keenly aware that it is in their interests to keep you disgusted and bored and cynical and to give you every possible reason to stay at home doing one-hitters and watching MTV on primary day. By all means stay home if you want, but don’t bullshit yourself that you’re not voting. In reality, there is no such thing as not voting: you either vote by voting, or you vote by staying home and tacitly doubling the value of some Diehard’s vote.”

        3. Well, I am indeed bored, disgusted, and cynical but I’ve yet to miss the opportunity to vote. Nor have I any plans to stop voting.

  2. One of the most ominous things about him is his unabashed admiration for psychopathic autocrats, i.e. Putin, Xi and Un. It’s right out in the open and still his base sends this boastful billionaire money!

    1. That’s what concerns me the most — that he still has so much support, that there are still so many people in this country who think he should lead the country. If they didn’t know who and what he is when they voted for him in 2016, they certainly know now. Ominous, indeed.
