I’m sorry that the election made an aging, mentally impaired, malignant narcissist and convicted felon the most powerful person in the world. Again.
I’m sorry that he’s compounding the peril by bringing Vance, Musk, and Stephen Miller into his inner circle.
I’m sorry that much of the religious screed “Project 2025” may be imposed on all of us.
I’m sorry that the rest of the world may have its economies, security, and peace of mind put in peril by all this.
I’m sorry that millions of American citizens, despite their votes, were unable to stop our country’s descent into darkness.
Darlin, it’s the Civil War all over again but in a different guise. The Trumpists would have loved to be able to go to war over the election, though …
We too have untermenschen – every country does. It’s a matter of numbers, of entitlement, of resentment, of lack of understanding, of lack of humour, of frustration, of rage, of lack of control.
Actually, Trump’s election may have forestalled the violence (aka civil war) that many feared would ensue if he lost. Not that it’s much consolation right now.
The voting public needs to be reminded of basic human empathy. The next four years should do that. But our country could be irreversibly change in the process. The most likely agent of change, in my opinion, is war. Unlike WW II, the next may not be survivable.
Short of that, things could still get pretty ugly. But yes, I’m very concerned that Trump will stop aid to Ukraine and invite his buddy Putin to take it — with the aid of the North Korean troops that are now helping him. Putin, of course, has already rattled his nukes. And then there’s China. A world war would be just the thing to unite Americans — just in time to kiss our butts goodbye.
Neither did I. I’d hoped my fellow citizens were smart enough to not do this, not elect a convicted felon to the presidency! Not after all the horrible things he’s said and done and promised. Not after … just NOT!
Hardly your fault, Colorado.
And you can’t apologize for all the Americans who voted in a convicted felon.

It does make one ashamed to be an American.
Indeed it does.
We all did our best
And yet our best wasn’t good enough. There was so much, so very much at stake.
Right
Me too. But it is hard to beat hate.
True. But I had to try.
and we have to keep trying, even if it’s hard.
and it will be
Absolutely, we have to keep trying, no matter what.
no matter what!
I never thought this could happen here.
