I was raised – as were all my siblings – to be a cat person. I still am, and I have a cat I love with all my ancient heart.
But in the last couple of years I have become ALSO a dog person ! I love them ! I spend all my time when Out In The World asking dog-owners “May I pat your dog ?” and doing so with the greatest pleasure.
I think one of their main attractions is that they’re always happy ! – I mean, look at Charlie there, smiling away …

They don’t call ’em “man’s best friend” for no reason. Unlike most cats, they can accompany you when you go out. Poor Charlie; I don’t go out much anymore. He deserves better.
By the way, people love it when you pay attention to their dogs.
I don’t usually watch any movie about pets because they usually end sadly or otherwise sorrowfully, but I recently found myself doing it anyway.
