R.I.P. Junior Seau

Nobody should die at 43. Especially not a successful athlete. Especially not from suicide. I couldn’t tell you anything about Junior Seau except that I always enjoyed watching him play and he was well known and well liked enough for me to know who he was. That’s more than I can say for the majority of NFL players, past or present.

  1. This is just so sad. His poor mom. Please give them space as his sister has asked. It’s a tragedy – that’s all we really need to know.

  2. Watched him play for years against KC – I was a great fan of his. It’s so sad to see him gone…
He’s the fourth former NFL player to suicide in the last year, and one of them shot himself in the chest & left a note that he had done that so that his brain could be examined, and most likely Junior thought the same. Brain damage in sports is being more closely examined lately.
RIP to a superb athlete, he will long be remembered.

    • All the TV docs seem to think he probably had that kind of brain damage too. I hope they do tests to find out. It does seem like he might have had that in mind. Yes, he was one of the greats.

  3. You’re right. I’d not heard of him before but what a smile. So very sad for his family.
