Aide who would ‘hurl some acid’ resigns

In case you missed the announcement as I did … Jay Townsend, campaign aide to Rep. Nan Hayworth (R-NY), who infamously said on Facebook, “Let’s hurl some acid at those female Democratic senators who won’t abide the mandates they want to impose on the private sector,” resigned Monday. Or was fired. Who really knows. But at least he’s gone, as he should be.

  1. Just the fact that someone would think this and then say this publicly or privately is sickening. Why has the right wing resorted to talibanish barbarism? What are they afraid of, civilized discourse? They’ve never been very good at that, not in the last 50 years….

    1. This was about as hateful as anything I’ve ever heard from a public official. I signed a petition to have him fired. Like to think I helped a bit to force him out.
