‘Vulcan’ and ‘Cerberus’ win poll

Today marked the close of the poll to choose names for Pluto’s moons, currently designated P4 and P5. With 450,324 votes cast, Vulcan and Cerberus finished first and second. For a chart of all the names and how they fared, check out Pluto Rocks.

Cool! I see “Styx” came in 3rd. That was another of my favorites! 😀

  For some reason I was holding out for something a little more euphonious than Styx this time, although it’s one of my favorite names for pets, game characters, etc.
