Remembering 9/11

    1. I try very hard to avoid the awful images. I’ve seen far too much of them over the years and prefer just quiet remembrance. I’ve always thought the Tribute in Light was the best possible memorial, and all we really need.

  1. Thank you, PT, for this image. Our world changed that morning. (wondered if you might post Alan Jackson’s song or the firefighters raising the recovered flag; this was spot-on) Me, too, Writerchick….

    1. I thought about the firefighters raising the flag, but just didn’t want or need to revisit the rubble. The lights mark the event with appropriate dignity and silence, leaving everyone to his or her own thoughts. I can’t do better than that.

  2. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for not admonishing people to “never forget.” You know, because anyone born before 1995 with four functioning brain cells COULD forget. Don’t mind me. I’m just tired of people pulling scabs off wounds.

  3. Thanks so much for the image selection you made and for not urging us to remember. Even Canadians like me will remember 9/11 because it’s a horrid event that’s impossible to forget.
