As was promised many months ago, the live streaming webcam at Red Rocks is back. In truth it may have been back all summer, through the concert season, and I missed it because it’s at a different URL now. Still, it can be interesting even in winter. Some of you may recall the day I caught Beast clearing snow and then running the steps — in his briefs. (You do remember Beast, don’t you?) So there’s always a chance we’ll see him again. Even as I write, there are two guys there busily clearing snow from a section of stairs. Yes, despite the snow and cold, there’s almost always somebody hanging around.
Worth noting, too, that the camera has been repositioned so that once again Denver is visible on the horizon.

Why does a webcam change its URL without notification ?! – that’s pretty rude ! :\
It happens all the time, and I’m just a voyeur, so they don’t owe me any notification. But it does frustrate me when it happens, especially when it means I lose track of my favorite webcams — this one and the Indian Peaks camera being the prime examples. When they disappear, I have no way of knowing if they are gone forever or just have new URLs. There were a bunch of good cameras in Estes Park and the guy running the website just let them all die. (But in his defense, it costs money to maintain webcams and websites.)
My apologies. I inadvertently erased your comment about these cameras being privately owned. They may be owned by individuals, businesses, municipalities, etc., and changed by them at any time. The guy in Estes Park might have owned the cameras on his website, or some or all of them may have been owned and maintained by other entities. But it’s an ongoing expense to buy and maintain such cameras. All the webcams I feature on Pied Type are owned and maintained by other entities.
Ho ! – “inadvertently”, eh ? [grin]
You will be punished for that.
puts on thinking cap ..
Oh, I’ve already been punished. Your comment got deleted because it was made after that point in time to which I reverted this entire blog — after making a boo boo I couldn’t fix. Sorry ’bout that.
Both of my kids graduated at Red Rocks. Such a happy place for me!
What a wonderful place for a graduation!! The perfect Colorado venue
It was at sunset when my younger son graduated; such a great view and experience.
