And as a postscript to Earth Day, it occurred to me as I browsed through Stensland’s images that they illustrate what is at stake — what we stand to lose — if humans persist in polluting the earth.

And they will, Colorado – nothing is surer.
I’m fascinated by the huge spread of these sublime little blossoms, growing in what seems to be hard and unfriendly ground: obviously, it is not so – at least, not the them ! 🙂
Somehow they manage to do it, and I manage not to see them. But I think they prefer areas that I haven’t visited in many years.
