  1. Yeah, that Karma-la is a bitch isn’t it! Once again, all the GOP accusations are really confessions. Also, glass houses, etc.! The gaslighting creates blowback. I could go on.

    1. Heh, karma-la. Clever. I’ll have to remember that.
Yes, admittedly not until now had it occurred to me that orange man’s ravings could be due to his age. Or at least partly attributable. He does seem to be even more incoherent than he was a few years ago.

      1. Some of the stuff he is saying is so crazy I googled to see if one of his parents had dementia. Oh, dear. His father Fred died of dementia. I’m thinking that he is well on the way to a total break with reality, and the people pushing Project 2025 are counting on this: it makes the selection of JD Vance more understandable. Also, more horrifying. Some of the stuff that Vance is saying is crazy too, but much more consequential if he gets into office.

        1. Well that explains a lot. It’s doubly scary to realize Vance is sort of a mini Trump, the perfect person to carry on the Trump legacy and Project 2025. It’s frightening to even contemplate.

          1. They must not win!! Now the attacks are directed at childless people, period, and Fox news said something that any man who would vote for a women had “mommy issues” and they had their masculinity attacked. This is out of control, toxic masculinity with a big dose white supremacy stirred in. And they WROTE IT DOWN!!!! I haven’t even gotten to the parts about firing civil servants and putting in loyalists, or the DOJ and FBI being under the direct control of the president. My parents, who fought polio and WW2, and who belonged to unions, would have their heads explode.

        2. Vance is almost scarier than Trump because he’s so young, calculating, and smart in all the worst ways. He’ll be around to haunt us for years. I’ve been trying to take a break from political news by watching the Olympics and, the last three days, stressing about Colo. forest fires. But it’s only sort of working.

          1. I am beyond appalled by Vance. His voiced beliefs and behavior are indefensible, and I’m embarrassed for him in how he has spoken about his wife and kids. My view is that this isn’t an election campaign on the right, but a conspiracy to seize power. I watched the Harris/Walz rally this afternoon, and I am feeling much, much better. As my sister put it, it is nice to have some sane adult candidates instead of chopped word salad with insult dressing.

        3. I had an appointment and missed the rally. It would have given me a chance to get to know Walz a bit better. I’d thought maybe she’d choose Shapiro to try to secure Pennsylvania. Guess I’ll learn more about Walz in snippets.

          (Love your sister’s description!)

Go ahead, you can say it ...
