In case you missed them, these are some of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s appearances on Fox News. As he noted at the DNC last night, you might recognize him from Fox News, where he has appeared several times. As bad as he makes them look, I’m surprised that his first appearance wasn’t also his last.
Last night at the DNC:

Five years ago:
I haven’t heard why Buttigieg was passed over as Harris’s running mate. He so smart, well informed, quick witted, and well spoken. Perhaps he’s from the wrong state or too young or whatever. But I have high hopes that he could — and should — be President someday.
(Incidentally, the best tip I’ve seen on how to pronounce his name is “boot-edge-edge.” Now if only I could remember how to spell it!)
For the record, I’m also very fond of Adam Kinzinger, whom you may recall was a Republican serving on the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. A veteran himself, he explains and defends Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz’s military service record and retirement which has been attacked by Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance:

He absolutely is mine, too and lives a few hours away from me! He will be president one day
Oh you lucky dog!. You might actually meet him someday! I know. I know it’s remote. Still …
i hope, i hope.
He gets my vote for president.
If we start campaigning now, he can follow Kamala.
According to one site, the pronunciation of Pete’s name has a j-sound in it.

That j sound appears when I say boot-edge-edge. Maybe it’s my Okie accent coming into play when I run edge-edge together. The first g becomes a j-sound
Pete is the goods, alright, Colorado !! – he’s an absolute ripper ! And he would most definitely make great Presidential material for the future, ’cause he’s only going to get better.
If only the entire gay community could, as he does, live their lives without needing to TELL THE WORLD about their sexual choice !! He lives as do heterosexuals – without paying it the slightest public attention.
Oh he’s a keeper for sure. I continue to be amazed that you are so familiar with American politics and politicians. I don’t know if it’s just you, or if I’m really naive about how much attention we get from the rest of the world. It probably c omes from the fact that I’m so disinterested in other countries’ politics. (How dare I assume that my disinterest is typical!)
Yep, I agree about the gay thing. You need not make a point of announcing it (unless I start flirting with you!)
For me it started with Obama, and I’ve been sort of following along since – the sort of meaning that it was only to check up on some appalling fact when the orange (_¤_) was playing with America. The moment pre-election times hit, I’ve been back on board. But I’m not generally representative of Aussies. Pity, that: we could learn something.
We could learn something too. I’m thinking especially of how you Aussies manage(d) the gun issue. If only we’d done the same thing, back when it could have made a difference … 🙁
