Sinclair and Nexstar Media Group folded today. Both announced Jimmy Kimmel will be back on the air tonight on all their ABC affiliate stations (covering 23% of the US). So that’s it, America. We stood up for free speech — peacefully but with unity and determination — and, at least in this case, we won.
Remember the feeling, because the war to save democracy is not over.

If you’ve not been following the Kimmel blackout story, see the preceding posts, I voted this week, Adios Disney+, and Et tu, ABC?

Love the cartoon!
I loved it too. Had to include it. Glad you liked it.
I’m amazed ! – because Nexstar’s intended merger ain’t gonna happen now. FANTASTIC that both these “sub-contractors” caved !
I don’t know offhand what Nexstar’s plans were, but apparently they decided they couldn’t stand to be left out of Kimmel’s comeback. I hope the change of heart was due to pressure from viewers in their markets, just as there was in all the Disney+ markets.
I don’t usually watch Kimmel but I’m starting to record it. I like the cut of his jib.
Before now I’ve almost always watched Colbert, with Kimmel as a back-up when Colbert was in reruns. But Kimmel has been a lot more pointed this week, with good reason, so I’ve been watching him while recording Colbert. I’ve always liked both of them.
yes!
