We had a bit of fog in Denver yesterday. Actually, it covered a large area in this part of the state and in spots was as dense as any I’ve ever seen. Local meteorologists said it was the most humid, muggy October day in Colorado history.
More interesting than the usual traffic-in-fog videos was this video that appeared on local news program “Next with Kyle Clark” at 6 pm (my favorite local show, FWIW). Understandably, heavy fog can be a potential problem for DIA flights. I can only assume this plane landed, but … who knows … the pilot might have aborted. Either way, it has Twilight Zone vibes.

Impressive. This reminds me of a series I’m currently watching on Paramount Plus: “Air Disasters”. Featured are detailed documentaries and reenactments. I find them fascinating. Originally produced by the Smithsonian Channel. Don’t watch if you have an airplane ride scheduled.
I’ve watched that show a number of times. Always very interesting to see how they figure out what happened.
It’s so weird that the fog became so dense so low down !!!!!!
It was a really dense fog. I saw one video of the morning traffic and though you could barely see the cars, they were moving at close to normal speed. Each was probably just following the taillights in front of it … and that certainly could have ended very badly.
Perhaps the fog wasn’t that low; it’s just that we’re that high … 😉
