    1. “So bad even the introverts are here!” I like that. It the past, it was the cover-ups that did in wrong-doing pols. Not this guy, he flouts it as if he has a divine right. Wonder where he got that idea?

      1. He was born with the idea. He’s a AAA example of every expression of narcissism. Check out the NIH (National Institutes of Health) article, “Narcissistic Personality Disorder.” Within that article is this from the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders):

In interpersonal settings, there is a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and lack of empathy. This pattern of behaviors onsets in early adulthood and persists through various contexts. Clinical features include at least 5 of the following:

        • Having a grandiose sense of self-importance, such as exaggerating achievements and talents, expecting to be recognized as superior even without commensurate achievements
        • Preoccupation with fantasies of success, power, beauty, and idealization
        • Belief in being “special” and that they can only be understood by or associated with other high-status people (or institutions)
        • Demanding excessive admiration
        • Sense of entitlement
        • Exploitation behaviors
        • Lack of empathy
        • Envy towards others or belief that others are envious of them
        • Arrogant, haughty behaviors and attitudes

Further, many sources describe Trump as a malignant narcissist, although that is not a form recognized in DSM-5. Wikipedia says: “Malignant narcissism is a theoretical personality disorder construct conceptually distinguished from typical narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) by the presence of antisocial behavior, egosyntonic sadism, and a paranoid orientation, while still retaining some capacity for guilt and loyalty.”

To all that we can add the obvious fact that he’s aging (now 79 years old). Make of that what you will.

        Houston, we have a problem.

        1. I think that this is spot on, but there other, larger elements that are at play here: the people who support that evil man, and the MAGA people. Here’s my take on some of this:
          1. I taught middle school for some time. 8th graders are kind of the scum of the universe. They are getting large, and they feel grown up, but they have not transitioned to formal operational thinking and lack the ability to think in more than black/white terms. They challenge adult authority whenever possible. They are emotional and really reactive in that they have extreme responses to what they imagine you said, instead of what was actually said or done. They suffer from “center of the universe” syndrome, and love nothing more than to one-up the grown-ups. Gee… sounds a like lot of the MAGA people have arrested development at 8th grade level.
          2. I was involved in a program designed to promote student entry into health care fields. It was a joke: everyone was picking up paychecks while generating lots of flashy documentation that looked like we were doing great things and building their careers on the success of this program, but it was a complete sham. There is a difference between making a program look great and marketing a great program. The entire White House operation is about making their policies look great (hence the media operations and hiring people off of television shows), while in the background it all about corruption and power. Having gotten into power via marketing, a lot of these officials and lawmakers have no idea, or interest, how to actually do their jobs.
          3. Remember reading groups in elementary school? In the faculty lunchroom the teachers called the groups the Red Birds, the Blue Birds, and the Buzzards. Guess who the buzzards were. What we are seeing is the rage of those kids who were always grouped into the slow learner group and who knew it. Now they are grown up, emotionally damaged, arrested in middle school mentality, and they want nothing more than to “own the libs”.

I will never get over what has happened to America because of this horrible man and all of the corrupt, damaged people he has given power to. the Poop-jet kind makes my point, doesn’t it.

          1. What a bunch of sick sycophants. (Hmm, maybe that’s where the word originated) No doubt you’ve seen at least one of the videos where they go around the table and each person in turn says something complementary to Trump. I think once was a cabinet meeting and once maybe was a dinner. So absurd one would like to think it’s AI or a movie scene. One title called it the “Glorification of Trump.” I have to turn them off to avoid getting sick.

  1. Oh, it was WONDERFUL, Colorado !
I followed it on Bluesky and had the best time possible, seeing as how I’m on the other half of the world. 0

    1. I read somewhere that there were an estimated 2 million more people out this time than in the last No Kings March. And to think the organizers had estimated there would be fewer this time. It was very heartening if only for a day or two.
