Devastated

  1. Yes, this is among the most egregious examples of Trump’s total disregard for the laws, customs, mores, and cultural traditions of the nation that he supposedly defends and protects. So many of his violations of norms just sound like government “stuff,” words and changes that might eventually be restored when the adults get back in charge. But this photo of a historical national treasure also makes brutally clear that this insanity cannot be “fixed” later. Where does it stop?

    1. With something like this now underway, it’s frightening to think what else he might do between now and November 2028. Three whole years! Remember, when he first moved into the White House in 2017, he called it “a dump.”

  2. Ladies … It CAN be fixed. And I’m perfectly sure that the next Dem incumbent will be urged by everyone to fix it.
But I do understand your emotions, I truly do.

    1. No, you can’t fix something that’s totally gone, reduced to rubble and hauled away, especially when it was something with historical and emotional significance. And you can’t even build a new “replica” because Trump’s tacky imitation Palace at Versailles will be taking up all the space where it was, and a whole lot more. What Trump is building will be larger than the entire existing White House.

Thanks, MR, but he’s finally done something that can’t be fixed.

Go ahead, you can say it ...
