This is the image of himself that Trump is so fond of. He likes it so much, it’s his avatar on Truth Social. He likes it so much that he hung it in the East Wing’s Visitor Foyer in June 2025. Yes, it was more than a little jarring hanging there between the formal portraits of former first ladies Laura Bush and Patricia Nixon, in the space once occupied by Hillary Clinton’s portrait. Strange, considering the East Wing of the White House was the province of our first ladies until he bulldozed the whole thing two weeks ago.
Do you suppose he removed only his portrait before the demolition? I can imagine aides rushing in to save all the First Lady portraits while the outer walls were falling …
I mention all this only because I keep wondering, is it just me, or does this particular image look like Trump behind bars? He may love it, but all I see, all I’ve ever seen, is prison bars.
Probably just wishful thinking on my part.

Yep, I see the prison bars, too. But I also see that the way his nose is placed between the stripes it like a penis. As bit wobbly perhaps, but still larger than his real members. Maybe that’s the subliminal, in his own mind, or intended to be so for his cult members.
Or maybe it’s just to show how he sticks his nose into everything, whether it’s the business of the president or not.

It’s all so disgusting–putting his portrait between the genteel two first ladies, getting rid of Hillary’s and the portrait itself–ugly but definitely behind bars.
In every way he’s just a disgusting and increasingly dangerous human being.

I read somewhere that Hillary’s portrait has been taken to the Clinton presidential library or somewhere comparable. Yes, this does look clownlike. Every bit as appropriate as prison bars. Absolutely juvenile and dumb. But now it’s become just plain cruel. Jobs lost. Paychecks cut off. People, children, are going hungry!
