Oh yes, I have it and have had it for many years – Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Or, per Wikipedia:
Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) is a pejorative term used to describe negative reactions to U.S. President Donald Trump that are characterized as irrational and disconnected from Trump’s actual policy positions.
This time it’s his recent redecoration of the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House. All marble (probably just the acrylic stuff used in shower stalls) and gold (spray paint?). Seriously, does anyone think Abraham Lincoln, or anyone in America at the time, would have had a bathroom like this?

Trump insists it’s “totally in keeping” with Lincoln’s era. Of course he would. I’m surprised the toilet isn’t gold.
A different view:

What jumps out at me in this second image is the complete lack of curtains or shades of some kind. As it is, anybody on the “throne” would be in plain view of the people visible in this photo, among others.
And I just noticed the crystal chandelier in the second photo. Just like Lincoln’s, no doubt.
Anyway, window coverings are another hang-up of mine in addition to TDS. I don’t understand people who don’t put curtains or shades on their windows, whether for privacy or light control. All those movies and tv shows with people living in high rise buildings without any curtains on their windows. I could live on the 40th floor and would still want curtains or some kind of window dressing. You never know who’s out there watching from another high rise window somewhere.
By the way, FWIW, I love the sage green that existed prior to Trump’s “improvement.”
Yep, it’s a hang-up. I’ve never lived higher than the second floor and have always had window coverings. I was raised that way, and it makes good sense to me for a woman living alone, someone who values privacy, light control, and in some cases, assistance with temperature control. It’s also a “warmer,” softer look, IMHO.

This arsehole cannot be said to have bad taste because bad taste is many levels above his.
LOL! A brilliant observation.
no words
I mostly just sit here fuming with smoke coming out of my ears. And there really are no words for that.
I’m surprised he didn’t set it to face outward! After all even a No King should be able to see from his throne any “subjects” who might be out there.
Oh that’s why he wants that view. He wants to keep an eye on his minions and make sure no one is sneaking up on him. And if that’s the former East Wing out there, he wants to keep an eye on the construction of his ballroom.
Glass brick is a good solution for this. It lets in lots of light, protects privacy, and never collects dust like drapes or need adjusting. Glass brick now comes in different attractive designs.
Yes, I’ve seen it used very attractively. But it can’t be opened if you want to see out. As it happens, in my master bath, there are clerestory windows on two walls above the shower/tub corner. Really nice. Natural daylight, fresh air if I open them, and I’m tall enough to see out a little bit. Also, the sills could easily be used as shelves.
