Yesterday Trump announced a new Trump class battleship to come for the US Navy.
“The US Navy will lead the design of these ships along with me because I’m very aesthetic,” he said. [ … gag … ] “I don’t like some of the ships you are doing aesthetically. They say it is stealth. That’s not stealth. An ugly ship is not necessary in order to say you are stealth.” This from our so-very-experienced marine engineer and naval-architect-in-chief.
Trump’s proferred renderings aside, what immediately popped into my head was something like this:

Oh well, what can I say. I contracted an incurable case of Trump derangement syndrome many years ago. Does it show?

omg
LOL!
Naah. You’re easily the least deranged person I communicate with, Colorado !! 🙂
Thx for that, but you obviously haven’t spent enough time with me. 🤪
The Ronald Reagan administration was proud to bring back, at tremendous expense, the battleship, outfitting four of them with Tomahawks and other missiles. They were impressive for the Cold War but would have been a submariner’s wet dream in a shooting war. Wise politicians listen to the experts, but most aren’t wise. History shows.
Current events also show the lack of wise politicians.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry these days.
I know the feeling
Trump’s delusions of grandeur trigger mirth and despair at the same time….
So true. The late night hosts really feed on the mirth, which is something I need to keep me from despair.
I agree – if you listen to it too much, the jokes can be very upsetting.
No, I didn’t mean the jokes are upsetting. Quite the opposite. The late night jokes are the only things providing a little relief from the incessant insanity. There are days when, if I weren’t laughing at it all, I think I’d be screaming.
Oh I get it. Yes you need a good laugh. Absolutely.
