Predictably, Donald Trump wasn’t happy with the Supreme Court’s ruling yesterday — the one that said there is not enough time between now and the November 3 election to properly implement his proposed restrictions on mail-in ballots (especially since three states have already mailed out their ballots).
His response via social media (referring to Justices Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch) :
“These are not the people I interviewed to serve on the United States Supreme Court. They are merely a shell of their original selves, a Court that is costing the United States Trillions of Dollars with shockingly bad rulings that are of such magnitude that it won’t be easily possible for our Country to recover or heal.”
Lower courts are still considering the constitutionality of Trump’s plan, and that issue won’t reach the Supreme Court until after the November election. Maybe by then Trump’s appointed justices, whom he just excoriated, will have decided the Constitution is, after all, more important than Donald Trump.
And the bad news (for Trump) just keeps on coming. This morning a judge ruled — again — that his name cannot be put on the Kennedy Center building or grounds. No way, no how.
I think maybe that photo of the orange murderer is the truest. It shows both his horrible ugliness and the teeny, teeny size of his brain.
Oh, so that’s what that gesture means!!
The result of the ruling is correct in that a large number of people who could (and would) have been deprived of their votes now will not. But I am shocked and disappointed in the weak straw they grasped for; There wasn’t TIME !? Give me a break! What about the simple and clear verdict that Trump does not have the poer to mess around in the mechanics of electios…
Well, time constraints were the only straw in the case they were ruling on. The issue of constitutionality hasn’t reached the Supreme Court yet. It’s still being kicked around in the lower courts.
With respect, Fog, it isn’t “simple and clear” at all considering that two justices wanted to see the crazy plan go forward!
