Small item for the Who Cares category.
President Obama is holding a live press conference in about twenty minutes, and I don’t plan to listen.
For one thing, the last time he did this and I tried to listen, I had to give up. Luckily I could turn off the TV; the reporters had to stay there and keep listening politely. I found it painfully tedious. This, mind you, from someone who hardly missed a word Obama said during his campaign.
The other reason is I don’t really care what he has to say. I’m tired of hearing about the whole economic mess. I’m mad as hell about it. Wake me when things start getting better. In the meantime, I don’t want to hear any more about how the sausage is being made.
Actually, the signs are there for things to start getting better in a few months. I believe I predicted that the improvement would start in June or July, with people feeling it noticeably by the holidays, and I’m sticking to it.

I SO hope you’re right. The best I’ve heard so far is that Denver housing starts are up. Since this area was one of the first to “bust,” I’m hopeful (but trying to suppress it).
