The much cussed and discussed “deem and pass” procedure that Nancy Pelosi is threatening to employ for the health care reform bill, if actually used, should mean the ouster of every Democrat in Congress.

“Deem and pass” is a sneaky, back door, constitutionally questionable way to pass a bill without anyone having to go on record as having voted for or against it. It’s a last gasp, desperation move to pass legislation when no other maneuver has worked. It’s also a handy way to pass a highly controversial bill in an election year, when a vote either way could work against an incumbent.

Well, there’s an easy way around that for the electorate. If health care reform is “deemed” passed, every Democrat in Congress should be deemed guilty of having participated and voted out of office.

Period.
