Breastfeeding: Here we go again

There’s a lot of news these days about people being sensitive, or more often insensitive, to the feelings of others. And we all have our sensitivities, one way or another, about one thing or another.

One of mine got tweaked today. Again. It seems there’s been another flap about women breastfeeding in public, this time at a McDonald’s in Arizona. One of the women said: “It’s not about showing your breasts or being inappropriate, it’s about feeding your child. That’s all it’s about.”

Sorry, lady, but there are a lot of us who disagree with you. You whipping out a tit to nurse your baby is not the same as handing your kid a Happy Meal.

  1. I’m sorry but I have to agree with you.
It’s the liberal faction out there that says, I am woman hear me roar!
    See my nipples!
Why the hell would you feed your child there anyway?
    I am gobsmacked.
Couldn’t even look at the pictures.
I see it every day in Boston.
    That is gross enough.

    1. I’m one of those women who roared in the ’70s. (Well, meowed anyway.) But I did it without abandoning my ideas of publicly appropriate, ladylike behavior. Or is behaving like a lady just another old-fashioned, outdated concept?

    1. But it’s all about her feeding her child. That’s all. Goodness knows why you’d stare at a woman who is just feeding her child. It’s not about her showing her breasts or anything.

  2. What the hell is going on here?
Just watched the video and I am shaking my head.
Some folks just have their heads shoved so far up their ass that they can’t see.
    At all . . .

    1. Thx. I’ve wanted to use that tag cloud for the longest time and finally found a place for it that I like, given that I have no control over the font sizes or number of entries.

... and that's my two cents
