Oh, yummers! That beats anything I’ve heard about here.
I had to smile at the grocery store this morning when I passed 5 big burly firemen hovering over the display case of corned beef. They were discussing corned beef and cabbage. One said, “How to you cook it?” Another ventured, “Uhh … boil it, I guess.” They sounded clueless but determined. I was clueless too, but when I got home I watched it being prepared on “The Chew.” Looked delicious … and they didn’t boil it.
….and yet the Irish never seem to have a great deal to be happy about.
Or is that just the way they appear to me?
Most everyone has some reason to mourn, as well as some reason to celebrate. Hats off to those who find reason to celebrate no matter what.

Gorgeous poem! The Irish do not seem to ever be happy, I agree. They’ve had a tortuous past, but they need to somehow learn to let go of that. Such beautiful people, essentially—everyone falls in love with them, but many are disappointed, in my experience.
I’d never seen this particular Irish blessing before, but sure enough, someone recited it on one of the late night shows last night.
