It’s that time again. Halloween. For many years it was fun to hand out goodies to all the costumed kiddos who came by. But now — no. I turn off all the outside and living room lights, lower the volume on the tv, and hope I get through the evening without hearing the doorbell. But there’s always one, at least one, who doesn’t know or doesn’t believe that a dark porch means “no treats here.” We shall see.

It’s rare for us to get anyone here so I buy a bag of candy I like because I know I’ll end up with most of it.
I do the same. Bought a bag of the little fun-size Snickers. I like them frozen. But I don’t answer the door if anyone shows up. Besides, there are few if any since covid.
Most of the houses in my area don’t have children, but once in a rare while one or two will show up. I got a bag of Twix and M&M snack size treats. yum.
I’m with you on Halloween. Somehow, death isn’t so funny anymore. Frozen Snickers? Sounds interesting. Think I’ll try it.
Get the littlest ones, so you can gnaw on them and finish while they are still cold. Yummers!
Same here, although T&T starts before sunset, so I rely on not having any decorations as a sign that treats be not here.
That should help discourage. I never have any decorations up either.
I used to enjoy seeing the neighborhood kids’ costumes, but I’m too tired now. .
Oh yeah, it’s definitely been there done that for me. Just getting off the couch is an effort, and I’m not into exercise.
