  1. This we knew he planned to do, but we didn’t dream he was so VILE as to accuse Vlodymyr of being a cheat/thief !!!!
The world is no longer safe anywhere !!

    1. Trump “negotiating” Ukraine’s future with Putin when Ukraine isn’t even represented is beyond despicable. Trump probably figures he’ll take half and build the Riviera of the Russian Front.

  2. I recently picked up David McCullough’s biography of Harry Truman, which was published way back in the 90s. What a great read, and what a sorry picture the story of Truman’s forthrightness, set against the backdrop of today’s situation. Specifically on Ukraine, it was Truman who figured out very quickly that the Russians couldn’t be trusted, and had to be energetically opposed. Well, apparently that’s all at an end now but I too, stand with Ukraine and it’s shameful to have a President who just lies about the facts.
(I’ve been hearing rumors that Cuba wants to annex Florida… a good riddance!)

  3. johnthecook…In May of 2024, Ukraine was due for a National Election to elect a new President. It was suspended/put on hold due to “Martial Law” being declared. Does that make Zelenskyy a “dictator”? The Political Pendants will have to reach a consensus over that one.
The World Leaders know that Russia evaded Ukraine. They also evaded Crimea and reclaimed it as their own, or at least a portion of Crimea. Ukraine owes Russia NOTHING and should hold on to their Country and defend it to the last man standing. President Trump and our Government should not waffle on who they will support and be truthful about it!

    1. Suspending the election made sense. You don’t ask people to leave their bomb shelters or soldiers to leave their battle stations to vote in an election.
Trump’s not waffling at all. He thinks half of Ukraine should be given to Russia since “Ukraine invaded Russia.” Nobody will trust the US government after seeing Trump abandon our friends and break our promises

  4. If you go to this page on Etsy you’ll see Georgiy Ivanenko’s name. The contact info may be just for questions related to purchases from his business, hardwoodcase. (He makes beautiful phone cases, but there are other very similar businesses on Etsy, so if you want to buy something, make sure you’re ordering from hardwoodcase.) My family and I have ordered a lot of cases from him in the last few years and always include some supportive messages. He originally lived in Kharkiv, near Ukraine’s eastern border, but was forced out by the Russian invasion and it looks like he’s now based farther west in Cherkasy. I wish I could afford to buy a dozen cases from him, just for support.

  5. I woke up Friday planning to write a post about Rare Disease Day and was completely derailed by the disgraceful ambush in the Oval office. I am beyond heartsick. This is wrong and disgraceful on so many levels we must at the bottom of Dante’s hell at this point. We had a protection agreement with Ukraine that we have to honor. It is not appropriate to publicly shame the leader of another country for lack of gratitude while trying to stiff arm him into accepting a “deal” that is not in his nation’s best interest. Why is the US trying to negotiate a deal behind Ukraine’s back? Nothing, nothing is what it appears to be here. I believe that there is a long-range plan underway that involves serious landgrabs by Russia and the US is somehow involved in that. Watch, we will be out of NATO in a heartbeat as the plan is to be allied with Russia. I am so heartened to see other nations responding to the threat while here in the US people are still trying to explain things away or are offering alternative explanations.

    1. From what I’ve read, part of the deal was to have been basically giving Russia that part of Ukraine that they’ve already overrun, maybe more. Then stand back while Putin probably takes even more, going as far as he wants until somebody stops him. And it won’t be us because Trump is not going to cough up any more aid for Ukraine. Instead he’ll sit back gathering all those rare earth minerals that he will have extorted from Zelensky. And going forward, the other western nations won’t dare enter into any agreements us. Trump has just turned the US into an international pariah.

      1. That was my take, too. Ukraine, who was invaded, would only be further damaged by the “peace deal”, and now it appears that another issue (besides payback for the impeachment and wanting to acquire the rare minerals) was securing the Nobel Peace Prize. It has always been about what powerful individuals could get out of this, and not what was best for the people of the nations involved.

        1. He deserves prison, not the Nobel Peace Prize.

Justice Brandeis was right: “We can have vast wealth in the hands of a few, or we can have a democracy. We cannot have both.”
