Many people don’t like to watch (or listen to) videos. I get that. I’m usually one of those people. But the right music at the right time can really get to me. And these songs get me fired up. (I am, admittedly, a very emotional old woman.)
The next No Kings Day is this coming Saturday, October 18, and given Trump’s recent strutting on the international stage (or anyplace else), these songs resonate. More than they might have a few weeks ago. And no doubt less than they will in the weeks and months to come.
Until now I’d overlooked what the musicians among us have been doing. But they’ve been busy, and much of their work appears to be gathered in one YouTube channel called The Resistance. Looks like there’s a lot of funny and satirical work there. But right now I’m looking for protest songs, marching songs, fight songs.
Don’t forget, the next No Kings Day is this Saturday. Check the map, find a march near you, and be there if at all possible. There’s strength in numbers.
Strength in numbers.
Greater than yesterday. Less than tomorrow.

I met a young woman from Vermont on a tram today, and we had a lovely conversation about Saturday’s activities. She would have loved to be able to fly home for No Kings (Again) and then fly back to continue her Aussie wanderings … We had to agree, disappointedly, that without access to some satellite channels neither of us would see any of it live. And not a lot recorded, either, Downunder. 🙁
I hope all the news media will carry lots of pictures and videos. And I hope the turnout will be conspicuously greater than last time. On the other hand I worry the turnout will be smaller because people will feel like they’ve done this already. I guess we’ll see.
Love the videos!
Glad to hear that! They make me feel less alone in my outrage and give me hope.
