Not gonna do it

  1. Fair Enough! We won’t be watching at our house, either. No matter, he will probably still report later that the audience was the BIGGEST ever seen.

Earlier today I saw online a cute joke about the SotU speech: a facsimile bingo card that someone had devised, with each square providing a phrase or word that one might expect to hear tonight, such as “stolen election,” “biggest/best ever,” “Biden’s fault,” “Greenland,” and so on. Just cross ’em off as you hear ’em! (No prize was offered.) A clever idea, though I doubt the author of that little joke will be watching tonight either.

    1. Or it would make a great drinking game. Take a drink every time he says “election” or “best” or “Biden” or “stolen” or whatever. Of course, to play either game you have to watch the speech …
      Not gonna do it!

    1. Ten minutes would have been waaaay more than I could endure. I saw on the schedule that all the major networks carried his speech. I wonder what would have happened if one of them had refused to preempt their regular programming … Anyway, I got caught up on some of my streaming stuff.

  2. I feel the same as everyone here, can’t stand him. Regarding the Epstein victims: will someone explain to me why, since most of the women seem to be outed already, why haven’t they come forward to identify the rich and powerful men Epstein subjected them to? Surely they could collaborate on such accusations?

    1. Perhaps they fear retribution from those men? Or they’ve already been threatened? Frankly, I assumed many months ago that the Epstein files were and are being suppressed because Donald Trump features in them very prominently and in such a way that he likely would be immediately impeached, convicted, and kicked out of office. I still think that. (Or maybe I just hope that.) Perhaps buy those women aren’t speaking out because they are afraid to speak out against the president of the United States.

  3. johnthecook…the first job of those elected to a Political Office in our Government is to PROTECT America from those who would come to America illegally and change America into the Country they left because they did not like what was going on in their country. I suppose many here in America LEGALLY, want us to go back to the failed policies of President Clinton, The Bushes’ Obama and Biden. I don’t think President Trump is doing anything worse than his predecessors have done.

    1. John, be logical. If people leave/flee their country to come here, why would they want to change “here” into the country they left? They come seeking a better life, not to recreate the life/country they left behind. And sure, some of them are criminals, but so are a lot of native-born Americans.

It’s also illogical to think any of us want to go back to past failed policies. We do want to stop the current destruction of a government that was working pretty well. We want to get masked, murdering ICE thugs off our streets. We want to stop destroying our health care system, our aid to fellow citizens in need, our efforts to save and protect our environment. We want to preserve our standing in the international community. We want to get rid of grossly unqualified officials like Noem, Miller, Hegseth, Kennedy, and Patel. Not to mention Trump himself, who at best is an autocratic narcissist — aged, confused, erratic, declining … and as a result, dangerous.

Go ahead, you can say it ...
