It snowed along Colorado’s Front Range yesterday. A beautiful wet, desperately needed and widely celebrated snow. And as a result, this morning, one lone worker was told to go shovel the walk.
This particular walk, however, happens to be on the summit of Pikes Peak, more than a mile above Colorado Springs at an elevation of 14,115 feet. Look closely and you’ll see him at work along the railing behind the yellow train car. The walkway he’s clearing brings visitors from the regular train stop at the far left to the visitor center.
The cog railway operates year ’round, so there may well be visitors up there later today.

I’ve never heard that phrase but it’s perfect
Don’t recall where I first heard it. A song lyric, or a line from a Western maybe.
