  1. Funny! But, seriously, for years now I’ve been avoiding Romaine lettuce because I perceived getting ill after eating it at restaurants. When I stopped ordering it, I stopped getting ill. It makes sense, the leaves of leafy lettuce are picked by hand while only the outter layer of iceberg is touched by hands. Obviously, iceberg isn’t immune to contamination, but I continue to believe it’s safer than the leafy varieties.

    1. Better safe than sorry. And cyclosporiasis sounds particularly nasty. I’ve been buying prepared salad kits for years to avoid wasting components that me, myself, and I don’t use up fast enough. but there are four salad kits in my fridge right now that are destined for the trash can next time I go out.

Go ahead, you can say it ...
