Neda died one year ago, and nothing has changed

Neda Agha-Soltan

One year ago today, 27-year-old Neda Agha-Soltan was shot and killed during the post-election demonstrations in Iran. She became known worldwide as the “Angel of Iran,” symbol of Iranian resistance to an oppressive government. Women joined the men in the streets and for months there was hope the Green Movement might force change in Iran, or at least a fair accounting of the votes.

Sadly, little has changed, and to date, the Iranian government has not arrested anyone for Neda’s death.
