No, make that great news. Fantastic news. A judge ruled today that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his crazy vaccination, or non-vaccination, ideas can take a hike. Or words to that effect.
See “Judge Strikes Down Kennedy’s Vaccine Policies” (no paywall) in today’s New York Times. The district court said the federal government had not based its decisions on science.
“This is a significant victory for public health, evidence-based medicine, the rule of law, and the American people,” Richard Hughes, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, said after the decision was announced.
You can imagine my happy dance. (For those not familiar, I’m a doctor’s daughter and retired medical association editor.)

just saw this too and was so happy
I’m ecstatic.
Me, too. Fortunately, many of the pediatricians were ignoring the mandates. They actually cared about children’s welfare (health).
I assumed most of them were. Most doctors, for that matter. But the doubt cast reinforced some existing doubts among some populations and vaccination rates dropped. It’s a shame that the law moves so slowly sometimes. A lot of damage was done while the lawsuit worked its way through the courts. Case in point: the various measles outbreaks.
johnthecook…why are vaccinations today, 2026 not safe? I have received vaccinations all my life dating back to 1950 and I am still waking up on the GREEN SIDE of THE GRASS!
Me too! The vaccinations are safe. RFK Jr is an anti-vaxxer who should never have been appointed to his position. He bases his beliefs on a 1998 study that was discredited decades ago, along with who knows what else. Unfortunately, social media platforms have helped spread the misinformation. Too many people don’t bother to consult creditable medical and scientific sources, starting with their own doctors. No doubt you’ve noticed all the measles outbreaks. Just one example of the consequences of his actions.
