Obama deported more people in 2013 than Trump did in 2025. That was confirmed in this morning’s edition of The Colorado Sun. (See sources cited by the Sun.)
In 2013, the first year of Obama’s second term, there were 612,706 total deportations, compared to 540,000 deportations in the first year of Trump’s second term.
Yet on October 27, 2025, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin announced:
“The Trump Administration is on pace to shatter historic records and deport nearly 600,000 illegal aliens by the end of President Donald Trump’s first year since returning to office. More than 2 million illegal aliens have left the U.S. including 1.6 million who have voluntarily self-deported and over 527,000 deportations.”
Historic records shattered? Doesn’t look like it. And how does one count immigrants who have self-deported? They aren’t likely to announce themselves with ICE marching in the streets.
In any case, it looks like strong border enforcement was more effective than random arrests in the interior. Probably cheaper, too.

Like.
Yep, I confess I was inordinately pleased to see this.
don’t let the facts spoil a lie … 😉
Moi? Never!
At least Obama didn’t put immigrants in concentration camps.
True. But the list of things he didn’t do that Trump has done is well nigh infinite. How I miss having a couple like the Obamas in the White House.
johnthecook I do believe that President Obama did more harm to America than he did good.
Opinions differ on that point. I was only setting the record straight on deportation figures.
