Yep, that’s me. Your grumpy old woman.
Twenty-fifth anniversary of 9/11. I avoided as much of it as possible. I’d already wept my way through 24 prior observances. Just couldn’t do it again.
Finally got a real autumn day here. Day before yesterday the high temp was in the low 70s and ended with brief showers. Yesterday it was back into the 90s. Ugh.
Who the hell scheduled the Emmys and the first Broncos football game on the same night?
The first references I saw to both Halloween and Christmas appeared in August.

The AI guys are out there saying AI could kill us all in the next decade and something needs to be done. So why aren’t they doing it!? Who is more qualified? What, they expect Congress to do something!? Trump, of course, says he’s the only guardrail needed. Humph. (See, you change one letter at the beginning and add an h at the end … most people don’t know there’s an h at the end …)
It looks like the big aspen tree that shades my house has had a heart attack. Yes, aspens have heart attacks. (More like embolisms.) Even with adequate water, extreme heat can still get them.
Trump’s pledge of $5,000 to every American if Republicans win both houses of Congress … has there ever been a more obvious bribe? Sad that so many Americans will probably fall for it, the same folks that would probably buy that fabled bridge …
Oh, woe. 6.76% mortgage rates? I remember when they hit 18% (1981).
Sick of political ads? I live in Colorado’s 8th District, one of the most hotly contested in the country. Evans (R) vs. Rutinel (D). Ads seemingly 24/7. And often stupid. Example: An Evans ad accuses Rutinel of being a vegan! Gasp! (Rutinel’s in good company, however. In Texas, Talarico was also accused of being a vegan.)
A local news station reported at some length about a Denver organization that needs help to continue supplying infant diapers to needy families. The story ended without ever saying where or how donations could be made and without even giving the address of the organization.
Three measles-associated deaths reported in Pennsylvania and still the CDC won’t record them as measles-related or measles-associated deaths. Thanks, Bobby K.
The Kennedy Center faces “certain fiscal collapse within weeks” unless President Trump’s name is added back to the building in some fashion. Uh huh. Like he and his are the only people willing or able to sustain/maintain it. I still fear if he doesn’t get his name back on that building, we’ll awake one morning to bulldozers tearing it down.
The neighbor next door just put in a flower bed that extends a foot or two onto my property. I think. Grrr.
Maybe at least the Broncos will win tonight. Or “The Pitt” will win a dozen Emmys. (And in each case I’ll probably be watching the other channel!)

Colorado, my lamb, you have every right to be grumpy, so go for it !! In fact, come to think of it, you have full rights over INCANDESCENT RAGE !!!
Try that when you’re bored (if only) …
Love from Downunder
I’m usually too exhausted for incandescent rage, but there are times …
Gee, boredom would be nice. But that would require turning off the tv and computer, which would be, as I’ve mentioned before, like knowing the killer is in the house but going to bed anyway.
Thx again for your continuing support. Much appreciated!
