This is “Veiled Glory,” another stunning photograph from Erik Stensland, Estes Park, Colo. I love the gleam of moonlight on the lake despite the clouds. Lake Nokoni and Ptarmigan Mountain are in the western part of Rocky Mountain National Park, in an area I’ve never visited.
Oh that’s just gorgeous PT! 😀
It’s all about being in the right place at the right time … with the right equipment (40 lbs. of it, I was told) and the skill to use it. Not to mention tramping all over the mountains in the middle of the night or the middle of winter. I appreciate these photos so much more when I think about what it took to get them.
Worth mentioning: The hike to Lake Nokoni is 18.6 miles round trip.
Yeah. It might just be the dropping temps outside my apartment, but a decided shiver went down my back as I looked at that image! 😀
Understandably. The picture may have been taken in June, but that’s still real snow and you can bet that water is COLD.
this is absolutely beautiful )
That little bit of peach reflection is magical, isn’t it.
Wish my feet were up to the distance – haven’t been here either. Just stunning. Thanks – I needed this!
My pleasure. I needed it too.
Wow. Stunning!
OH….MY….GOSH!! GORGEOUS!!
