When I was a young’un, all my Thanksgivings looked like this. Or close to it. With five kids in the family — and, as the years flew by, their spouses and children — the gathering grew to several tables in several rooms. In time some of us moved away, then back, then away again, and it’s been many years since we’ve all been together at Thanksgiving. But the core group in Oklahoma City now includes grandchildren and so still makes for quite a crowd. And of course we are always together in spirit. I’ve so much to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving PT!
And to you, too, Mak. Don’t eat too much!
happy thanksgiving )
Thank you. And you have a great day too with all those little ones around.
My little Cornish game hen won’t quite measure up to Mr. Rockwell’s turkey but nevertheless, I will certainly enjoy it! 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and of course, your blogger followers!
I love those little game hens. I’d have probably fixed one if my daughter-in-law hadn’t done everything. Her turkey looked just like Rockwell’s. (We did Thanksgiving last night since she had to work today.)
Happy Thanksgiving, my friend!
And to you too. Hope your hard-earned break is safe and relaxing.
I wonder if “traditional” Thanksgiving will be a forgotten ritual in another generation or two. We hang together on it, but it becomes more of an effort every year.
Already it barely resembles what I grew up with. Everybody is too busy running in five different directions to pause and gather for a real old-fashioned Thanksgiving.
I hope over the river and through the woods manages to survive.
Me too. Would be such a shame to lose that. But it’s fading.
