Guinness World Records 2013 is available now and these are some of the record-holding animals. That Great Dane is Zeus, the world’s Tallest Living Dog. (Click on any image to start the slideshow and meet the others.) Personally, the only critter here I might want to own or live with is Cupcake, the chihuahua, and I’m afraid I’d probably step on her — if my cat didn’t have her for lunch first.

Good deal! BTW, did you know that you can split up a gallery into multiple codes to force it to display any way you want? And as long as you put them all on a single line in the HTML editor, they’ll still look as if it was a single gallery code! 😀
No, I haven’t looked into that (lots of other code, but not that). I do galleries so seldom that I still wrestle a bit with the default WP interface.

I was thinking more “genetic freak,” but horse works too.
As far as I’m concerned this is animal abuse. People have bred them this way in order to get attention for themselves.
While this particular dog may be some sort of freakish anomaly, I agree that breeding for ever bigger Great Danes could have set the scene for this, and a lot of selective breeding does not have the animals’ best interests at heart.
